Listening to Brandel Chamblee, the possibility of Tiger Woods playing at the Masters was akin to a miracle in this non-religious age we live in. Tiger Woods: Miracle at the Masters? Will we see the greatest golfer of the modern age tee it up in the first major of the year? The golf media is blowing more hot air into this story than a Dutch oven with a bad case of indigestion. To the naked eye Tiger looks in great shape, with his upper body more buff than usual. Of course, the hilly geography of Augusta will be a test over four days for a gammy leg.

The Way Of The Peaceful Golfer

I always know when it is Fridays on my local golf course because of the noise generated by the golfers out there. These visiting golfers, generally, make a racket whilst having a good time playing our course. There is nothing wrong with that but it sure isn’t the way of the peaceful golfer. Social golfers and infrequent visitors to golf courses, in my experience, make more noise in the green cathedral. Somehow, they feel it necessary to inject a lot of loud reactions to what happens in their rounds. Maybe this behaviour is about reinforcing the belief among the four ball that they are getting their money’s worth from golf as entertainment?

What Stops Us From Playing Our Best Golf?

Why do we falter at golf? What stops us from playing our best golf? Why do we fail to execute shots we know we can hit? Now, I am not talking about those miracle shot attempts but the stock standard stuff like pitching, chipping, and straight forward short putts. Why do we fluctuate so much in our abilities to play steady golf? This unreliability is what makes the game of golf so infuriating and maddening to us amateurs and hackers. Is it too much to expect that we can strike a small, dimpled sphere reasonably straight toward a pretty generous target? The evidence, in my own experience of late, suggests it may well be.

Jason Day Deflates on Day Three at the Wells Fargo

Down came the rain and washed poor Jason Day away. Tough weather conditions proved to be the undoing for Day after he led the tournament for the first two days. We were all hoping and praying that he would go on with the job and get a win for the first time in 4 years. Whether it was his new swing not holding up in the inclement conditions or back related reasons it was an ugly day for Jason. The end result was that Jason Day deflates on day three at the Wells Fargo shooting 9 over to leave him at 1 under.

Getting their audience riled up keeps eyeballs on them and advertising rates going up for their revenue.Popularizing Poisonous Issues For Political GainThe politics of grievance is all about popularizing these causes for the benefit of candidates and the party. The party promoting these grievances doesn’t need positive policies. They just bang on about how the other side is to blame for the problem.
