This book is about a supporter’s journey barracking for his much beloved footy team and the many highs and lows that encompasses. Black Swan Grand Final events in 2022 & 2024 kicked me in the guts. How can a footy team this good play so bad on one day when it really matters – repeatedly? Did it have something to do with what would emerge as the Sydney Swan’s alleged sex rime scandal???? Were the rotten roots hiding there all the time out of plain view? Did the character failings of these star players contribute to both moral and performative underachieving?
