Propaganda and the silver screen. Guns are the biggest stars on the American screens. Every second movie has a large role for guns in its action based DNA. Earlier this year, I made a commitment to cut out entertainment featuring guns from my visual diet going forward. Good luck with that.

America matters to the world. So many nations, have, looked to America for leadership on numerous issues facing them. Western democracies, in particular, have been inclined to look up to the US as some kind of big brother. Now, in the midst of the chaotic Trump era this can be a bad thing for those conservative parties around the place. The Republican party under Donald Trump has become an extremist anarchic force. The blatant and compulsive lying nature of Trump has infected the MAGA controlled GOP. Stupidity and lying are now so common place that Congress has become a cesspool for the worst aspects of the American character. It is hard to imagine school children looking up to these representatives in any meaningful way.
