You know there are a lot of people who just use technology without questioning its provenance. The smart phone and those apps become their new normal. Well, ‘stupid is as stupid does’, to quote a great philosopher. Big Tech is American, social media is an American invention and American billionaires own it and control it. AI, those chat bots, are not neutral machines but have settings defined by their controllers. The information you are getting is formulated via these powers that be. You really need to ask yourself what kind of human being are you? Are you some dumb pack animal doing what you are told or are you a man or a woman? It is time to get out of your economic lane and start asking some hard questions.
Questioning America
Most folk know that the world, as we knew it, is changing. America elected for the second time a president, hardly worthy of the title. Trump is a crook, a misogynist, a racist, and incompetent at most things apart from bullying and ripping people off. The leader of the so-called ‘free world’ is a runaway train heading for destruction and he will take plenty of us with him. Perhaps, you are a fan of the manosphere and see Trump as your UFC loving champion. Well, I hope you hold tight and go down with his ship to the very bottom of the sea. The rest of us need to start asking some hard questions.
Asking Are You Australian Or American?
Returning to the realm of that small screen you spend ten hours or more a day staring into. Most of the content you watch is American. Doom scrolling is an American term. The world is infected with a nihilistic culture, which has its roots in slavery, segregation and apartheid. For decades, the global population has been fed American celebrity culture, which is like lipstick on a pig. Gloss and glamour painted over greed, inequality and shallow materialism. Now, we have the Elon Musk’s, the Zuckerberg’s and Bezos’ drip feeding the planet every minute with subscription based deals for more sick product.
American Billionaires Messing With Us All
Many around the world think that they are American, despite not geographically living anywhere near the place. They drink its sweetly sick bourbon and coke, watch its sport and entertainment and doom scroll down into its imagined dystopian future. American billionaires mess with their minds on social media and meddle in their politics via their riches. Stoking anti-immigration fervour, as they have done within their own borders. Funding racists and neo-Nazi groups around the globe to stir up trouble and fuck with social cohesion. Fascist technolords like Musk and Peter Thiel plot the death of democracy, whilst weak governments look on. We need to start asking some hard questions.
One Nation Fakery
In Australia, we are discovering that the sudden popularity of One Nation is not some weird organic thing but rather has been force fed via a funded avalanche of AI fake news crafted in Vietnam. Some billionaires fingerprints will be on this digital tranche of lies about Pauline Hanson filtering into Facebook feeds. Hundreds of positive fake news stories as ringing endorsement of the xenophobic, red headed One Nation leader have made their way into the lives of ordinary Australians. Plenty of people dumb enough to gobble this stuff up unquestioningly, it seems. In an environment, where many already think themselves American the whole anti-immigration hate wave will raise them up. Weak individuals like to stand on the backs of beaten down others. Punching down is a favourite sport among the too pissed to think properly. Digital manipulation is no longer reserved for Photoshop, not in the age of AI. The scams are not all about money online, they can defraud your point of view too. If you believe everything you see on your screens you are a bigger fool than I thought.

In Australia, we have this expression about things not passing the pub test. Well, it is a pretty low bar when those judging are pissed at the pub. It says a lot about these Australians and how stupid they are. Jumping on the One Nation bandwagon, a convoy of racists, white supremacists and whinging losers. Blaming others for your problems is not a trait I endorse or want to join any group who hold that up as their reason for existing. Go and live in Trumpland and leave the rest of us to enjoy Australia. The rest of us need to start asking some hard questions.
