A bunch of people have asked me about my New Year’s resolutions and I blankly told them I had none. On reflection I had a think about my New Year resolutions for golf and here they are. 2022 was a big year for my golfing journey, with a swing overhaul. Watching a trove of instructional videos courtesy of Porzak Golf I decided to bite the bullet and change my whole setup. I moved a lot closer to the ball at address and hip bumped into position. Immediately my ball striking improved a hell of a lot.

A lot of men don’t read books because they don’t want anyone else inside their head. Books and written material are sneaky like that, they start up arguments abut stuff and try to convince you. If you don’t let them in to begin with, you haven’t any worries on that score. Books can be a bad business.

Walking Down The Fairway Of Life

He stuffed the last greasy mouthful of double beef burger into his mouth. Juggling its packaging in one paw and propelling his trolley with the other he kept on walking down the fairway of life. Brown remnants of some sauce snaked down his chin. The glistening temporarily stained skin made him look like there had been a major culinary accident in the vicinity. This was eating on the run golf style. Getting something substantial into you at the halfway mark. Nine holes had been and gone. Nine more holes had just begun. I don’t know how he does it, digesting mid stride and mid swing.

Partisan politics in America is more about hating the other side than particularly loving the side you are voting for. Americans have been encouraged to focus their attention upon their grievances via decades of negative campaigning and attack ads. Demonizing ‘the other’ is the favoured political pastime in the 21C. Identity politics and social values are the main game these days. OMG the sky is going to fall in. In this partisan realm complaints about there being too many coloured faces on TV and LGBTQIA folk making too much noise are legion. Uppity women talking about sexual harassment and such like make their viewer’s blood boil – which is the whole idea for Fox. Getting their audience riled up keeps eyeballs on them and advertising rates going up for their revenue.Popularizing Poisonous Issues For Political GainThe politics of grievance is all about popularizing these causes for the benefit of candidates and the party. The party promoting these grievances doesn’t need positive policies. They just bang on about how the other side is to blame for the problem.
